Sonic the Hedgehog Speed Cafe - Houston

I, Lizzy hedgehog prayed a lot for the sonic speed cafe to come to Houston, Texas from California somehow, someway the good Lord answered that prayer. So I will leave my honest review, first off. I’m very sorry some of you chose to leave a one star negative review. But I’m going to explain things and leave my review. First off, this was a grand opening weekend. Rather it be Saturday or Sunday when you arrived, you would expect a super long line & maybe a wait time of 2,3, or 4 hours. IF you’re able to wait in line at Disneyland or once upon a time at AstroWorld, or some other popular event, then I think you’re able to wait in line at this cafe. I will not argue about the food, because I overall enjoyed the food. If the food did not meet your expectations, then you should definitely talk to the managers about that. There is no need to compare it to food at someplace else because that’s just plain rude in the first place. The bathrooms were closed for one main reason, the guest sonic the hedgehog was coming in and out of the restroom. so the bathroom was closed for that reason I’m pretty sure to get privacy. But I’m pretty sure the bathrooms are open completely starting today until the very last day of the event. Yes, the space was small and limited because this is a pop-up Cafe, so usually it’s only a certain amount of space. If you weren’t happy during Saturday or Sunday, then come back a different day during the middle of the week and you’ll probably be able to enjoy it much better. As for T-shirts, hats, and all that wonderful merchandise, congratulations. That is usually the prices you’re going to pay. If you go to concerts, you probably spend a good amount of money on T-shirts, hats, bags, and a bunch of other stuff so again, it’s kind of rude to say oh the merchandise cost this much that’s not fair, this is not Walmart, this is not target, this is special edition merchandise made for the cafe exclusively. I don’t remember ever seeing children upset on Saturday, everyone seemed pretty excited about coming to the cafe. And the kids and parents I met during my time there seem pretty happy and enjoying their food. Remember, it was grand opening, so many people wanted to go to the grand opening and experience something new, it probably was very overwhelming for the staff so next time just be patient with them. Everybody worked very hard to get peoples orders out and get their merchandise out as well, give everybody a break. I have no complaints, to me as a loyal sonic fan. This meant more to me than anyone could understand other than another sonic fan who was there. Thank you again Sonic Speed Cafe, I will be back soon!

Really cute pop-up!! My brothers and I visited earlier today and we had a blast. We arrived around 11:15 am, but we had to wait a few minutes to be let in because there was already a lot of people haha Staff was very nice! As far as atmosphere, it was super cool; they got the place decked out with Sonic-themed art, cardboard cut outs, and even a turf floor. Not a lot of seating areas, but the cafe is small so it's understandable. The food was also themed around different sonic characters and had really cute packaging. Be prepared to shell out some money, though. Between 3 classic chili dogs, 2 drinks, and 1 regular fry, I spent about 60 (not including tip, which brought it up to 68). It ended up tasting pretty good, though. Overall, not a bad experience! For fellow Sonic fans, I think it's definitely worth the money, and especially so if you have kids.

Sonic themed food and a playlist of Sonic soundtrack songs new and old playing; the perfect atmosphere for sonic fans! It’s pretty expensive, I even thought I had misheard when I heard the price. The food's good though. The place is small, so seating indoors is scarce. But I do not regret it!

Loved it! The food was great, to be honest I was not expecting that. But everything tastes great, my favorite was the knuckle sandwich. Loved the decor, only real critique is the size of the space but it's a pop up so can't really complain. Thanks for bringing Sonic to Texas!

for a pop up place it was an awesome experience to take my sons who are huge sonic fans... as am I when I was their age lol..even now. It is pricey but I had the piko piko tenders meal and it was delish!! It's only here for 3 months and if your a fan come by and experience something so cool !

Had a great time at the cafe today! The actual restaurant is small and has limited seating. Staff were courteous and there was a short line that moved quickly. Our food came out quickly and was very good. We loved the theme and atmosphere so much. There are a couple of Sonic games that you can play inside and some standees of characters that you can take pictures with. The prices are what they are, it's a brand tie-in, but I wouldn't say it's outrageous. The food is still delicious and good quality. I'd say there's Goldilocks portion sizes- not too big, not too small, they were just right! We enjoyed our experience so much and recommend a visit to any Sonic fans!

We actually really liked this place! The reviews made me feel iffy, but we gave it a shot anyway. Food was good, shakes were amazing and fries were hot. Atmosphere was great,clean, and staff were really friendly. Prices are reasonable based on what it is. My kids loved it .

Cool spot. However, seating is a bit to be desired. Cool atmosphere though. Food was tasty but a bit on the pricey side.
